A Fall Day in Driggs, Idaho: Coffee, Teton Canyon, the Teton River and Dinner on Main

Fall is one of the best times to spend a day in Driggs, Idaho. The aspens turn gold, the crowds thin out, and the Tetons glow from the Idaho side. Here is how I would spend one, from first coffee to the porch light.

8 AM: Coffee at Wydaho Roasters

Start at Wydaho Roasters at 465 S Main St, where the coffee is roasted on site in Driggs. Grab a latte and something warm from the pastry case before you head out.

8:30 AM: Pack a lunch at Figgie's Deli

Pick up sandwiches at Figgie's Deli on Valley Centre Drive on your way out of town. Add one of their chocolate chip toffee cookies for later.

9 AM: Leaf peeping in Teton Canyon

Teton Canyon is about 11 miles east of Driggs in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The trail winds through aspens that turn gold this time of year. Find a sunny spot for your picnic.

3 PM: Float the Teton River

Paddle a slow stretch of the Teton River through the valley. Watch the willows for moose, and bring a rod: the river is known for native Yellowstone cutthroat trout.

6 PM: Dinner at Teton Thai

Head back to town for dinner at Teton Thai at 18 N Main, which also brews its own beer. Check their current fall hours before you go.

8 PM: Walk home to 315 E Harper Ave

End the day at our listing at 315 E Harper Ave, a charming corner-lot home with a fenced yard and an artist studio, a short walk from Main Street. It is listed at $875,000. Live in it full-time or rent it out. And when the snow comes, Grand Targhee Resort is about 12 miles away, with an average of 500+ inches of snow and opening day set for Friday, November 20, 2026.
